Hello people,

I've never written a journal entry, I thought nobody would take any notice of it since it would basicly just describe what I would have uploaded. That's why I just put anything interesting in the description of the submissions themselves. Today I forgot my phone and never had to chance of checking my DA account in the morning (I normally check it in my breaks at work). Normally I would have recieved some fav's, maybe a watch and a note of someone in the need of some help (I do awnser these, so don't hessitate to send a note with questions if you are in need of help).

However, I did bring my laptop to work to do some schoolwork in the free hours. The Internet connection is kind of crap and wasn't planning on browsing the Internet. I did check my DA though, since I expected some notes. After I opened DA my first thought was: "Hmm, DA is bugged, it says I have 224 messages". After thinking a bit about it I clicked my message box and saw a tremendous amount of fav's and comments. Slowly it started to get more clear to me. I opened the Daily Deviation section of the site by clicking it at the bottom and discovered I have been given a Daily Deviation.

So I hereby want to thank :devAgonizingSwordfish: and :devmaytel: for the big honour I've been given.

At the moment I've recieved a amount of 733 new message notifications and I won't be able to awnser every message in a short
amount of time. Thus I hereby want to thank everyone for the favs, watchs, llamas and comments they left on my page, it means a lot!

I will awnser all the comments I got, but please give me some time to do so! I can awnser a view questions though (the three I
could quickly find): I do create all the costumes myself, in most cases also all the props (with an exception of the repainted toy
flintlocks). I don't alter patterns (since I don't know how they work), but make them myself (like the Connor templates I've
uploaded) and sorry I don't do commissions, I'm very short on time.

To end this message I just want to thank everybody for the kind words and compliments, thank you!

You got hugged :iconplzhug: !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spread the DA love around! (you can copy and paste this message on their userpage!)

1- You can hug the person who hugged you!
2- You -MUST- hug 6 other people, at least!
3- You should hug them in public! Paste it on their page!
4- Random hugs are perfectly okay! (and sweet)
5- You should most definitely get started hugging right away!

Send This To All Your Friends, And Me If I Am 1.
If You Get 7 Back You Are Loved!
1-3 you're a bad friend!
4-6 you're an ok friend!
7-9 you're a good friend!
10-& Up you're a great friend!

Hy it's me again ;) I want to improve my Connor cosplay starting with the Leather parts ... maybe I already asked you this but where do I get a leather that looks distressed and altered ? or a leather which I can distress.
I just used some fake leather and you can't really distress it...
thanks again for your help :)

Hey hey,

Yes, you've allready asked me this. I hope I my awnser will be clear enough again.

I use old leather from couches. All kinds of colours. When I paint this I start with a brown base. Then I put some black on it (at parts that would normally get darker because of fluids and sweat). Then I lighten up the edges with light brown and some white paint, this imitates roughened edges. However at the moment I use some berge/creme (broken white) leather, so I only paint it brown and black and after that I just sand down the edges to get the brown back.

You mentioned that you used some fake leather and that distressing was difficult because of it being to slippery to paint on. I advice you to roughen up the surface of the edges with some sandpaper. After that you can paint it in a lighter colour.

Hope this covered your question! Good luck!

yeah sorry that I bothered you again...
but thanks so much for the detailed answer I will definitely try that out ! Just another quick question: Which glue did you use for the leather parts ?
I used hot glue but the parts where the smooth surfaces meet barely staying together ...

No problem at all. I use pritt-stift (glue stick) a lot and also bizon contact glue.

They would suck for that purpose, so I'll just advice you to use one-second glue.
